Placement Cell Recruitment Process

P.G.D.A.V. College (University of Delhi)

1. Initiation of Recruitment Process

The organization seeking to recruit students must first formally contact the Placement Cell via email at placements@pgdav.du.ac.in or via a telephonic conversation with either the convener or the president of the cell. The recruiter is required to share:

  • A detailed Job Description (JD), clearly specifying the profile offered, eligibility criteria, job location, and compensation details.
  • The number of vacancies available
  • Any other specific requirements relevant to the recruitment process.

The Placement Cell will assign a dedicated Placement Coordinator as the single point of contact for the organization to ensure seamless coordination.

2. Opportunity Circulation

Once the Job Description is received and approved, the job opportunity is widely circulated to eligible students by the Placement Cell through official communication channels, including emails, WhatsApp groups, website announcements, and social media handles. For this, the Placement Cell creates a Jumbo JD which is a structured Job Description to ensure uniformity of information for all drives. The interested students are invited to submit their CVs within the specified timeline, at the end of which all the CVs are forwarded to the recruiter.

3. Selection Procedure

The Placement Cell releases information on the shortlisted CVs. Based on the recruiter’s choice, the selection process may include:

  • Aptitude Tests
  • Group Discussions
  • Technical Rounds
  • Personal Interviews

Pre-Placement Talk (If Applicable)
If recruiters wish to conduct a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) to provide candidates with clarity regarding the company’s profile, organizational culture, and achievements; job role expectations and growth opportunities. The Placement Cell shall coordinate the scheduling of the Pre-placement Talks, ensuring maximum student participation.

4. Interview Process

The recruiter holds full discretion regarding the mode (online/offline) and structure of the selection rounds. The recruiter may interview as many students as they deem suitable. The Placement Cell’s role is limited to facilitating and organizing interview schedules as per mutual convenience. Students are notified of their interview slots and other related details via official channels.

5. Final Selection and Job Offer

Upon successful completion of all selection rounds: The recruiter informs the Placement Cell of the final list of selected candidates.

  • The Placement Cell will officially convey offers to the students or it can also be conveyed by the recruiters on mutual consent. Alternatively, the recruiter may directly contact the selected students, in which case students are required to share a copy of the offer letter with the Placement Cell for record-keeping.
  • Details such as joining date, location, and compensation specifics shall be shared between the recruiter and the selected candidates post final selection.
